Interdisciplinary research positions are available for highly motivated graduate students. Students from different backgrounds in science and engineering (more specifically, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, physics, chemistry, chemical engineering) are encouraged to apply.


APP Laboratory specific research directions are:

 
  • Fabrication of alternative (perovskite and Cu2O) solar materials: Deposition of materials using vacuum techniques and structural characterization.
 
  • Simulation of thin film crystalline silicon solar cells with advanced light trapping: Electromagnetic and drift-diffusion simulation of solar cells. 
 
  • Fabrication of thin film crystalline silicon solar cells: Flexible thin film crystalline silicon solar cells to reduce cost / efficiency ratio in PV.


  • Peeling off silicon layers via mechanical strees formed by thermal mismatch between various polymers and silicon.
